By NoKYCZone Editorial Published Last reviewed How we score

Retroswap (retroswap.exchange) is an instant crypto swap service dedicated to Monero — every trade ends on XMR, fed by 50+ input coins (BTC, ETH, USDT/USDC on multiple chains, SOL, XRP, LTC, DOGE, DASH, ZEC and more). It positions itself as a privacy-first alternative to FixedFloat-class aggregators, with no account creation and an explicit "no AML screening" policy.

How it works

The user picks an input asset, pastes a Monero receiving address, and sends the input to the address Retroswap generates. The service advertises a 5-20 minute settlement and a declared range of $100 minimum / $282 100 maximum per order. Rates are live-quoted on the widget; the routing layer is not publicly documented but the user-facing flow matches the classic custodial instant-swap model (send in → swap → send out).

KYC & privacy

Retroswap states it asks for no name, no email, no ID at any stage. Its AML policy goes further than most peers by explicitly refusing Chainalysis, Elliptic and TRM Labs transaction screening and committing to never freeze, delay or reject orders on the basis of source-of-funds heuristics. Whether that commitment would hold under direct legal pressure is untested — the service is very new.

Strengths and limits

The value proposition is narrow and sharp: a Monero-focused swap that buyers can use without handing over identity, with a stated policy against the industry-standard chain-analysis vendors. The limits are real and important. The copyright marker on the site reads 2026 only, and there is no Reddit thread, Trustpilot rating or KYCnot.me listing establishing a track record — good or bad. The operator is undisclosed (no legal entity, no team page), the codebase is closed-source, and there is no .onion mirror. A similarly named but distinct service called RetoSwap (one "r", a P2P Haveno-reto fork) exists and should not be confused with this one.

Verdict

At 7.0/10 with KYC rated anonymous (L1), Retroswap is listed here because of its no-identity policy and explicit refusal of chain-analysis screening. The score is moderated by the absence of operating history, the opaque operator, the closed code and the custodial nature of instant-swap flows. Use it with a dedicated receive wallet and the amounts you're willing to entrust to an unproven operator.
